Like they say, if you love to eat, learn to cook and I believe rightly so. While I love the brownies and cakes at places like Theobroma, Honey and Dough etc. the process of baking such mesmerizing desserts is something I find both intriguing and the same time terrifying.
How much baking powder to add? Is the egg white fluffy enough yet? Is the cake in the oven cooked yet? Aaaah, it just seemed all too complicated and while recipe books do cover a lot of the details baking isn’t all the easy.
But I wasn’t ready to give up, not yet at least and thus began my search for a good baking school in Delhi.
It was one of my friends that told me to check out TruffleNation as she lives in Malviya Nagar and had heard about it previously and after some research on social media to my surprise, Kirty, the owner of the school was just my age and has been baking for years.
And seeing her passion for baking and love for chocolates I knew I had found the perfect mentor in her so I signed up for their Foundational Baking for Beginners Course. The signing up process was simple and response to my online queries was quick.
On the First Day
The course covered few of my favorite cakes like marble cake, butterscotch cake etc. but once I was able to bake these cakes perfectly there was no stopping and me thus I had no hesitation signing up for the Professional Baking Course as well.
But learning to bake those cakes required plenty of hard work not just from me but from my teacher as well and I am glad she didn’t give up.
Also, since I got to bring everything home I didn’t shy away from boasting about my newly developed skills to my friends and parents and they loved every bit of it so much so that responsibility of the dessert for the next family gathering now rests on my shoulders.
Kirty makes the classes fun and interesting and coupled with the homely environment of the school learning seems like a ‘piece of cake’.
Plus, I was also given a detailed Recipe book with step by step guidelines so I can prep the cakes for my loved ones anytime and anywhere.
My plans for the future
Currently, I am quite happy with my job and would love to continue here for the foreseeable future while continuing to bake as a hobby and further hone the skills and valuable lessons I picked up during my training at TruffleNation.
Whether my love for baking turns into a career is a future I am open too and I’d love Kirty and others from TruffleNation to come over grab a bite and be part of the grand opening.
